At Wings and Walleyes, we work hard every day to ensure our clients enjoy the outdoors with friends and family. Our number one priority is to make sure you are comfortable and safe in the field and on the water, which is why we use the finest equipment available. Finally, we hope to create lasting relationships and enjoy the friendships we build through our guided trips.

Meet Your Guide

My name is Reed Ylitalo. I own and operate Wings and Walleyes Guide Service. My home range is the area surrounding of Northern Minnesota’s Grand Rapids and Deer River, but I love to travel to other lakes and throughout the Midwest. I was raised with a passion for the outdoors and guiding has allowed me to share my love for fishing and hunting with countless others. As much as I enjoy the outdoors, the greatest joy in my life comes from my family. I am fortunate to be married to a wonderful, supportive woman and am the father of two beautiful children, who both love being outside as much as I do. My youth was filled with many cherished fishing trips with my father, so it has been a blessing to create and share these moments with my own kids. With nearly a decade of guiding experience on the water and in the field, I always strive to meet the needs of my clients and achieve their goals for the day. Whether it is a limit of fish, learning the features of a new lake, or making memories with friends and family, I have learned that there is no better way to build fellowship than a day on the water.

When I’m not guiding clients I am seeking the next bite, educating myself on environmental and fishery changes, involving myself in the local community and spending time with my family. To share and appreciate the outdoors with fellow outdoorsmen and women is truly the best job in the world. My greatest reward is learning something new every day, all while having fun!
